For our Land Use and Comprehensive Planning final, we were tasked with creating a series of recommendations for the development of the West Downtown community in Covington, Kentucky. The final report linked here includes a Future Land Use Map, a street redesign, case studies, and recommendations.
Van Buren (Maine) Arts Center Design Project
This report was the result of a semester-long class project for a Design Thinking course in the School of Public Administration. The class collaborated with the community of Van Buren, ME to design an arts center using design thinking methodology. My role was to complete research on the history of Van Buren as well as a demographic analysis, facilitate focus groups, and do the design for the final report in InDesign. This was my first opportunity to use InDesign in a public-facing document, and I learned a lot!
Session Presentation
In our fall planning studio, we attended the Ten at the Top annual conference in Greenville, which was a great opportunity to learn from and collaborate with local elected leaders and business partners. This presentation was a part of a post-conference summary that our class gave to provide key insights to attendees.
